This summer, there is an alien invasion at the Museum of Discovery & Science in Fort Lauderdale. Starting Saturday, you can stop by and 'explore the age-old question: Are We Alone?' That's the intriguing challenge from the museum's new exhibit, Aliens: Worlds of Possibilities, and the IMAX film Alien Adventure 3D. These are the two main events, but the museum is also presenting guests James Randi, investigator and demystifier of paranormal and pseudoscientific claims; Dr. Sanchez-Ocejo, president of Miami UFO Center; and Dr. Seth Shostak, astronomer and host of SETI's (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute) Are We Alone? Radio Program. Try out a hover craft, design your own extraterrestrial, and even help the chef create a 'crazy comet.' The aliens featured in the exhibit are inspired by a NASA-funded curriculum called 'Invent-an-Alien,' representing ideas of life forms that might develop on planets where the gravity, geology and atmosphere differ from those on Earth.By ALENA LOWENTHAL NGALAME

Visitors will come face-to-face with Hairy Sandwalker, above, Gusty Traveler and Phineous Palindrome, and giant 12-foot-tall robotic aliens. In the fun, not scary, IMAX film, Alien Adventure, goofy aliens land on Earth -- in a theme park.
