UFOs & NUKES | James Carlson’s Desperate Question: “Who Are You Going to Believe, Me or Your Lying Ears?!”

Yes, this is the essence of UFO debunker James Carlson’s frantic lament, as he continues to attempt to dismiss a UFO-involvement in two separate, large-scale nuclear missile shutdown incidents at Malmstrom AFB, Montana, on March 16th and 24th, 1967. Unfortunately for Carlson, my article "The Echo/Oscar Witch Hunt" contains links to audio-taped conversations with two of the ICBM launch officers involved—retired USAF Colonels Walter Figel and Fred Meiwald—who confirm a UFO presence during both missile-malfunction incidents. While Carlson would much prefer that you not listen to the witnesses’ own words and, instead, take his manic, deceptive rants on the subject as gospel, may I recommend that you listen to the tapes before deciding who is being honest and who is not.

But merely listening to the officers’ testimony may not be enough for persons seeking the whole story. My Witch Hunt article also contains a pdf image of a letter from Col. Meiwald to his deputy missile commander during the shutdown at Oscar Flight, former Captain Robert Salas, in which Meiwald confirms that a two-man security team sent out into the field by Salas was so terrified by a UFO near one of the missile sites that the guards had frantically raced back to the launch control facility. The unfortunate men were so traumatized by their experience that they had to be sent back to base before their shift ended. They were never seen on duty again.

The article also contains a letter from Boeing engineer Robert Kaminski to researcher Jim Klotz, in which he says 1) UFO sightings by Air Force personnel at the other group of malfunctioning missiles, Echo Flight, had been reported to the Boeing investigation team, 2) the team could find no conventional cause for the shutdowns and 3) The Air Force suddenly ordered Kaminski to halt his investigation of the incident and to forego filing a report—an unprecedented, inexplicable development. The title of the release was "U.S. Nuclear Weapons Have Been Compromised by Unidentified Aerial Objects" followed by "Ex-military men say unknown intruders have monitored and even tampered with American nuclear missiles" and "Group to call on U.S. Government to reveal the facts."

The press kit distributed to those attending the event contained notarized affidavits from seven of the participants—former or retired U.S. Air Force personnel who were directly or indirectly involved in UFO incursions at nuclear weapons sites—as well as a small cross-section of declassified FBI and U.S. Air Force documents relating to such incidents over the years.
