Highway reopens after launch facility incident

The exact reason for the closure remains unclear. Late Wednesday afternoon, Malmstrom Air Force Base’s Public Affairs Office released the following statement:
“While performing routine maintenance in a Launch Facility northwest of Lewistown at approximately 1 p.m., Malmstrom personnel detected abnormal instrument readings. We are working to ensure the safety and security of the people in the area is maintained during this response. At this time we only know that we have picked up abnormal readings and actions being currently taken are only a precaution. . . .

While it appears on the surface that the Air Force is forthcoming; it is obvious that the public knows nothing about the nature of the problem. The Air Force knows exactly what happened and in this case silence may legitimately constitute a matter of national security.
ReplyDeleteIf the local residents enjoy the benefit of Air Force dollars they should accept the risks of living in a nuclear minefield.
Sadly, that above applies to all Americans since all of us are in living in the midst of a nuclear minefield and thus we are targets for Russia and Red China. Ugh!
Oh, I have a pretty dang good idea of what is happening up there. I have plenty of friends and family that live up in that area and they have been calling me and apprising me of what they are seeing and what seems to be going on. If you're thinking it's what you think it is, it is. There's some real odd stuff going on around there but the military guys are being extremely mum as usual.
