    If aliens turn to our government or think our government is representative of humanity, then I seriously question the discernment, ethics, and observational skills of these aliens. They might be technologically intelligent indeed. But doing deals with the government or a future scenario of official public contact via the government... well I feel it reflects poorly on the aliens. Good intentions for humanity always manifests differently, and always includes awareness of the source of horrors.
