On Oct. 16, 1973, the crew of a Delaware State Police helicopter chased a UFO 14 miles before losing sight of it. At the same time, the mystery object was being monitored on radar by flight controllers at Dover Air Force Base nearby.
ReplyDeleteThis was just prior to the Coyne incident in which an Army reserve helicopter was "attacked" by a UFO.
Articles from the Wilmington News-Journal are available on-line, but there is a charge for them. The incident received significant local coverage, but has largely been forgotten today.
