The forthcoming Lubbock Lights musical heritage celebration is named for some strange phenomena occurring 65 years ago. It began on Aug. 25, 1951, when three Texas Technological College (now Texas Tech University) professors sitting on the front patio of Dr. Wilbur I. Robinson’s adobe home on 24th Street observed an arc of green lights speeding soundlessly far overhead.
